Scribble Christmas Tree 🎄
This is such an easy holiday art project where we are literally going to scribble a tree onto our canvas! There is no tracer and very minimal painting. We are simply scribbling and adding glass, beads, and resin. This is absolutely perfect for beginners if you are just getting started with glass art and resin!
Let's start by painting our background! Add a coat of Metallic White and then pull it all in one direction so you have a nice, non-splotchy color. Then, mix some Metallic White with Metallic Festive Green and add some color in a diagonal direction. Dry with a heat tool.
Next, we need to figure out the shape and placement of our tree. I have a clear glass star that I will be using for my topper, so I'll place that on my canvas and add a little dot where that is going to be. The, I'll take painter's tape and form a triangle so that I know where to add my tree scribble.
I'll take a black Posca Pen and literally scribble my Christmas tree - starting at the top with a little wiggle and coming all the way down to the trunk. Dry it with a heat tool.
I'll take a black ultra-fine Posca Pen and just repeat what I did again just to give it some more detail. I'll do this a few times for more interest!
Next, let's add glass! I am using green glass and Starfire glass on top of my tree.
We're going to elevate our canvas using blocks. Mix 1 ounce of resin and stir gently for three minutes. Pour the resin onto your glass and spread it onto your canvas using your gloved fingers or brush.
Use a heat gun to pop your bubbles. Keep your heat moving at all times! Then, I'll sprinkle on some Crystal Luster and Metallic Gold seed beads to both my tree and my background.
