Bring a unique coastal twist to your holiday decor with this Seashell Christmas Tree Resin Wood Sign! Using a wooden sign base, resin, starfire glass, seashells, and sea glass, you’ll craft a sparkling, layered Christmas tree that blends rustic charm with beachy elegance!

Step 1: Prep and Protect Your Wood Sign

Tape off the edges and frame carefully with painter’s tape to prevent resin from dripping onto the wood and causing dark spots. This will keep your frame clean and crisp.

Step 2: Create the Base with Glass Shards

Spread a thin layer of starfire glass over the center area of your sign. This glass bed will act as a sparkling base for the shells to rest on and gives your tree that beautiful glittering look.

Step 3: Mix and Pour Your First Resin Layer

Mix your resin and hardener thoroughly, stirring for 3 minutes to avoid bubbles. Pour a thin layer of resin over the glass to “glue” them in place and create a smooth surface for arranging your shells.

Step 4: Build Your Seashell Christmas Tree

Start with a “tree trunk” shell  (usually a short, wider piece) at the bottom center. Then begin layering shells upwards in a triangular shape, overlapping and varying sizes to create the look of a Christmas tree. Add shells carefully, leaving gaps for texture.

Pour or drizzle another layer of resin over the shells, allowing the resin to flow around and under them for a strong hold and glossy finish. This also seals your tree design.

Add more shells to fill gaps or build up layers as needed. Seal again with resin to lock everything in place.

Step 5: Add Sea Glass “Ornaments”

Sprinkle sea glass pieces onto the top of the resin, placing them as “ornaments” on your seashell tree. Do not pour resin over the sea glass to preserve its beautiful frosted look. Add more seaglass at the bottom of your wooden sign. You can remove your painter's tape at this point.

Step 6: Add Accents

For extra charm, glue on a few starfish or larger shells to the corners or edges with clear tacky glue.
