I am using a wooden canvas for this art piece, which means it is very porous. Start by adding three coats of Americana Buttermilk to your background. Lightly sand your canvas in between coats.

We'll be painting some red stripes on our canvas with gold stars, then we will add some blue bottle rings that I got on Etsy to spell the letters USA. I love making flags and I love to make them messy! For this one, we'll be smattering in some red, white, and blue all together as well as some stars. I'll be adding some fun glass to my canvas as well. This is a great piece to make for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or just because!
